Description
Dilon Technologies® Inc. acquires the CoPilot VL® video laryngoscope, an advanced and award-winning airway management device developed to help providers have the best view of the airway when placing breathing tubes. The deal will expand Dilon’s footprint into the anesthesia and airway space.
“We are very pleased to add the CoPilot VL® video laryngoscope to our ever-growing portfolio of Dilon products. We welcome to the Dilon team both inventors of the CoPilot VL® video laryngoscope to guide the launch of the product line and ongoing innovations,” says Robert G. Moussa, Dilon Technologies Chairman and CEO. “Dilon’s strong sales network, solid understanding of anesthesia products and firm commitment to patient care makes them a great fit for us,” said Jay Tydlaska, coinventor of the CoPilot VL® video laryngoscope.
The CoPilot VL® video laryngoscope is an innovative, affordable, and easy to use video laryngoscope designed to improve patient care. The CoPilot VL® video laryngoscope provides outstanding high-quality video at only the fraction of the price. The patented Bougie Port system solves the issue of getting the endotracheal tube “around the corner” and into the airway. The CoPilot VL® video laryngoscope has been designed to get it right the first time, every time. The CoPilot VL® video laryngoscope is also portable which makes it an ideal solution for every medical setting such as anesthesia in the operating room, intensive care unit, or the emergency medical responder field. The CoPilot VL® video laryngoscope works with the CoPilot VL® disposable sheaths, disposable bougies, and a rigid intubation stylet.
Why VL every time
Turning the corner for Patients
A video laryngoscope maximizes your likelihood of first-pass success. Each subsequent intubation attempt increases the risk for patient trauma. Don’t let that happen by making a suboptimal attempt.
Get it right the first time. Every time.
The benefits of video laryngoscopy (VL)
A better view.
Read the American Society of Anesthesiologists Practice Guidelines for Management of the Difficult Airway for a more detailed discussion.
Less force.
Using less force can mean a lower risk of trauma for patients.
Faster.
VL is faster than fiberoptic intubation, improving patient safety and satisfaction and saving costly OR time. Read the Difficult Airway Society’s Guidelines for Management of Unanticipated Difficult Intubation in Adults for additional information.
Assists with both anticipated and unanticipated difficult airway situations.
The entire team can see the screen, enabling each team member to anticipate and respond immediately.
Portable.
Mounts to any IV pole and is small enough to easily go with you where you need it; ER, ICU, Cath lab.
Affordable.
In an editorial piece in the British Journal of Anaesthesia, cost is presented as the primary reason video laryngoscopes are not used for ALL tracheal intubations. CoPilot VL+ is the affordable option for hospitals, ORs and emergency rooms. The cost of a CoPilot VL+® disposable is equivalent to the cost of reprocessing a standard blade.
Easy to use.
Along with a great view of the cords, you can choose your way of intubation, stylet or bougie.
Patented Bougie Port.
Solves the “getting around the corner” problem. Turn the corner with CoPilot VL+®.
Bougie Port
Turn the corner. The first time. Every time.
Have you ever encountered an intubation with a great view of the vocal cords but you just can’t get the tube to go around the corner? CoPilot VL+® and its patented Bougie Port can increase first attempt success rates for tracheal intubation, thereby improving patient safety and satisfaction, and minimizing provider risk.
Video laryngoscopy shouldn’t be a backup plan; it should be the standard of care for all intubation patients. Get it right the first time, every time. Turn the corner with CoPilot VL+®.
